Positive and negative valences, personal innovativeness and intention to use facial recognition for payments

Purpose Facial recognition payment (FRP) has been attracting attention as an alternative mode. This research aims to investigate the future use of FRP for both mobile and point sale payment. Design/methodology/approach The body information on this topic is promoted by proposing valence framework, where authors used relative advantage, initial trust, perceived playfulness need uniqueness positive valence, risk, technophobia complexity negative valence. study also investigated moderating effect personal innovativeness consumers' behavioral intention FRP-based payments. collected data from 392 users China test model. structural equation modeling (SEM) evaluate significant determinants influencing use.
